The latest addition to Heidiland

Motels are not easy to find in Switzerland. This Motel has been developed following the design standards of the new ‘Cubilaris’ Company which establishes a new brand of contemporary overnight accommodation throughout Switzerland on a site on the outskirts of Bad Ragaz with easy access from the motorway.

The Motel is a temporary arrangement on a site with a long-term planning approval for 30 years. After this period, a potential extension of the contract will be considered or the building will be erected in a different location – another important advantage of the Timto modules. Longterm leasing arrangements can be offered for structures within the EU.

The ‘Cubilaris’ consists of 20 modules stacked up on two levels, with 8 Classic rooms of 16m2 and 5 suites of 32m2, which are accessed by a continuous covered metal arcade. Plant room and back of house facilities are arranged at ground floor. Intelligent building technology optimises energy use in non-occupied guest rooms, with blinds closing, electrical equipment switched off and room temperature lowered after check out.

The bathroom next to the entrance is designed as a glass cubicle with vinyl wall cladding, a fitted wardrobe and hanging space allows for enough storage. Next to the bed sits a small working space, TV and coffee maker is room standard. The suite has room for a seating area and a small dining table next to a kitchen unit separates from the sleeping area. The colour scheme of Cubilaris is reflected in the fitout of each individual room.

‘A fresh architecture with the usual hotel standard for affordable prices’

‘Modules can create an architecture through repetition as is the case with our hotel projects and student accommodation.’
